Description

C/2022 E3 (ZTF) is a long period comet from the Oort cloud that was discovered by the Zwicky Transient Facility on March 2nd, 2022.

The comet reached its perihelion on 12 January 2023, at a distance of 1.11 AU and the closest approach to Earth will be on 1 February 2023, at a distance of 0.28 AU.

I captured this image on Sunday 22nd's morning, as I was imaging the Orion region with my 6D and 135mm lens over the weekend. And as the gods of planetary rotation intended, the comet was high enough when Orion became low enough. It was not hard to locate it without a goto mount. So here's my attempt at it.
